Sumiyaki (yakitori restaurant) 炭焼き

I found this place on Teramachi a few months ago when mum was in town - she LOVES yakitori! It was not bad as far as Yakitori places go however it did have a curiously Italian edge....  quite sophisticated in its own way but not exactly what I was looking for on this particular occasion. Worth a look if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out.   Just south of Oike on Teramachi  - east side of the street.  The drinks menu is quite large and reasonably priced.

Here's a few things from the menu:
grilled tomato and mozzarella salad above / yakitori with parmesan below
\
grilled duck breast salad
Tsukune (seasoned chicken mince) with raw yolk (from super fresh and delicious eggs) to dip into
Chicken with very fine baby leeks
grilled mushrooms with soy/egg yolk sauce. There were several vegetarian choices here including daikon below and pencil leek/asparagus in the image under that
If you desire yakitori sauce on your chicken (instead of salt) you need to ask for Tare  - pronounced  a little like "TaRay". If you pronounce it like you would hare/hair... you will not be understood.
